I’m Waiting! Hints to Get Him to Propose

You know the feeling. Every time you log into Facebook, more and more of your friends are updating their relationship statuses to “engaged” or “married.” Now and then there’s a photo of a lucky lady in a gorgeous white dress and, sometimes, a baby smiles up at you from the latest family photo shoot.
And what’s your man doing while all this is going on? Well, whatever it is, it doesn’t seem to involve any spontaneous proposals.
Ladies, here are some tips for helping him get the message.

Talk about Your Married Friends
One of the benefits of social media letting you know that all your friends are getting hitched is that it creates a lot of plausible opportunities for you to talk about marriage and bring it up with your significant other.
Instead of spontaneously dropping comments like “marriage is pretty cool, right?” in the middle of a Netflix crime-thriller binge, try for the more casual approach of “aww, look at this, Cindy and Jack just got engaged! That’s awesome; it’s about time.”

Spend Time with Your Married Friends
They say that you become like the people you hang out with. If that’s true, it’s probably a good reason to try and spend as much time as possible with your richest, best-dressed friends, but it’s also a great reason to take your boyfriend firmly by the scruff of his neck and drag him with you on nights out with your married friends.
Seeing life from the perspective of a married man will naturally get his imagination going and cause him to put himself in the husband’s shoes. It might even put his mind at ease to see that life doesn’t end with marriage.

Leave Brochures Everywhere
There’s not much room for doubt about what’s on your mind when you leave visual evidence of your thoughts all over the house. This is probably one of the main remaining uses for paper brochures in the 21st century.
Well, maybe you don’t want to leave them all over the house, but it definitely won’t hurt if your partner happens to find a guide to women's engagement rings on the coffee table where he’d normally leave his keys, or a bridal veils brochure on the kitchen counter.
Subtle? Not even a little bit, but it gives him the opportunity to save face and get the message in his own time.

If All Else Fails, Just Say It
Probably not the first option to go to, but there is a time and a place for just being blunt and saying what you really mean. If your guy is stalwartly refusing to take the hint, it doesn’t necessarily mean he doesn’t want to get married, and it definitely doesn’t mean he isn’t into you. Maybe he’s just got something holding him back that he needs to talk over, or maybe he’s so distracted at the office that he’s missed the signs.

When all else fails, take him aside and put all your cards on the table.
