Getting Ready for Prom

Prom can be one of the most important nights in a young girl’s life. After all the hard work you’ve done, you deserve to blow off a little steam. It should be a night to remember and, of course, you want to look fabulous. It’s time to dress to impress, so you should feel like a million dollars as you enter your proms venue. Getting it all just perfect takes some planning, but we’ve got you covered. Here’s a list of what you need to do to get ready for your prom.

Find Your Style
It all starts with shopping. You’ll need to start looking at what kind of dresses catch your eye and make a list of the styles and colours you like. Then you’ll need to go and try a few on. Yes, you can save some money by ordering prom dresses online, but it’s risky. The dresses won’t always come back the right size, even if you send in your exact measurements. It’s much safer to try dresses on before buying them. Co-ordinate with your friends, so you don’t end up wearing similar dresses.

Look for Accessories
Once you’ve found the perfect dress, you’ll need accessories to go with it. You’ll want to find matching jewellery, a clutch bag and shoes. You may want to take the dress with you while shopping so you can match colours and style. If the dress is too big to carry around, take a picture and use it as a reference.

Groom Early
If you’re planning on having a facial or getting a spray tan, do it in advance. Don’t leave things like this until the day of the prom. Firstly, facials have a tendency to cause pimples because they open your pores. Secondly, you don’t want to get a fake tan the day of prom and find out you have patches or it doesn’t dry in time. You’ll also want to get your nails done at least the day before the event.

Plan Photos
Prom is a night that you’ll look back on for years to come. It’s important to get good pictures of you and your friends before and during the night. If your school hasn’t already hired a photographer, you may want to think about hiring one and sharing the cost with friends so you can create a photo album.

Practice Makes Perfect
If you’re planning on doing your own hair and make-up, make sure you have a few practice runs before the day. Don’t assume you’ll be able to do something because you’ve watched a Youtube tutorial. If you know exactly what you’re doing, there’ll be less chance of you getting overwhelmed on the day, and more chance of you being able to enjoy yourself.

Work Out Transport
If you plan on arriving at the prom with your date and your friends, you’ll need to arrange transport. Work out how many of you there are and book your transport accordingly. A limousine is always a great way to arrive in style.
